SCENE STUDY WITH SHANNON COCHRAN
This small scene study class offers students the opportunity to work on both modern and classic plays. How does the written text give an actor clues and insight into character and motivation? How can the actor make the most interesting, watchable choices? What does it mean to be part of an ensemble, and how can the actor trust and draw upon their scene partner to create a unified and dynamic scene?

SCENE STUDY WITH ALEXANDRA BILLINGS AND SHANNON COCHRAN
This is a joint-led class with Alexandra Billings, which blends traditional scene study with the use of Viewpoints techniques to illuminate text and subtext, discovering how to free the entire body in space and inhabit the inner life of characters and texts. We will explore the entire process of creation through the freedom found in Viewpoints. 10 weeks.

Scene study with Tom Irwin
I keep the class small 10-12 students so you have the opportunity to work every week. We only work on material from plays. The idea is to create an enviroment where the student feels safe to explore, experiment, fail, succeed without the presure to preform- an actors gym. With that in mind this is not a drop in drop out kind of class. We start on time and you are expected to be in class the whole time to support and be inspired by the other scenes. There are no auditors. Over the ten weeks you will will work on three different scenes with three different actors. You are asigned a scene, rehearse outside of class and come in the following week off book. You must have the time and willingness to rehearse outside of class.
10 Classes, 4 hours per class.

An Exploration of Anton Chekhov with Jeff Perry
I've found inspiration from Chekhov's work beginning in my teenage years. At Steppenwolf I've been futher inspired by acting in Uncle Vanya, Three Sisters, and The Seagull. As a teacher beginning in 1977 I've taught 2 person, group and multi discipline scene study classes . In this 'actors gym' exploration of Checkhov we will take an eight week scene study and monolouge dive into his work.
8 Classes, 3 hours per class.
